The Royal Oak in Wineham is as traditional a British pub as you are ever likely to find. Beers and Ales poured from the cask compliment a fantastic selection of wines and great pub food. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the locals are always willing to chat and get to know new visitors. With a huge garden, a huge fireplace and heaps of historical charm this is definitely a pub for all seasons!

Had visited this pub occasionally for a drink, but never tried eating before. Sunday lunch today was great – tasty, hot roasts (including a yummy nut roast) and delicious puds (summer pudding – my fav). Friendly staff, great local vibe. No fancy fuss but good old fashioned traditional relaxed grub. Good value.

Delicious food, lovely environment and excellent services

We went for Sunday lunch and thankfully had been advised to get there early, we are glad that we did! This is a popular pub and for good reason. A great selection of beer and drinks on the menu and a very good food menu – fresh and locally sourced. As a scorching day we went for different ploughmans. They were all delicious and very filling, the beef in particular was cooked perfectly and was full of flavour.

We sat out in the gardens and service was still very efficient and quick. The bar staff were very helpful and friendly, you were definitely made to feel welcome. Will go back here again and would thoroughly recommend.
